Delivery Methods

There are many ways to incorporate cannabis into your wellness routine.

When considering which method that is right for you, consider these factors: targeted relief vs. whole body relief, onset time, psychoactivity, and how long the effects will last.

Here are a few of the most popular methods:

Topically

applying releaf balm to wrist

Topicals provide relief by penetrating the skin (but not into the bloodstream) and interacting with our receptors to reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation. Results can be felt in a few minutes and relief can last anywhere from two to four hours.

Non-Psychoactive.

Sublingual

releaf tincture drink

When taking tinctures underneath the tongue, the effects are usually felt within 15 to 45 minutes and last two to three hours.  This method is discreet and has similar mind and body effects to inhaling cannabis through smoking/vaping.

Psychoactivity is minimal to strong depending on the ratio.

Vaping

Vaping allows the user to inhale a cannabis product (oil, wax, shatter) and the cannabinoids go directly into the bloodstream. Depending on the THC level one can experience psychoactivity within minutes.

Usually psychoactive.

Transdermally

Transdermal products, like patches, are formulated to penetrate the skin  and deliver cannabinoids into your bloodstream. Transdermal patches release slowly, so they micro-dose you over an extended length of time.. Effects are usually felt within 30 to 45 minutes.

Minimally psychoactive.
