Doing Our Part
For social equity, our local communities, and the environment.
At Papa & Barkley, we have always been in business to help others find relief. We use our voices, resources, time, and energy to make a positive impact on the well-being of our communities, our industry, and our planet.
Striving for equity in our industry (and beyond).
Let’s be real - cannabis has a flammable history when it comes to equal treatment of those who partake.
If wellness and quality of life is what we strive to deliver, it is important to us to work toward creating equity for communities who might otherwise go underserved - communities who have also been historically treated unfairly relative to cannabis consumption.
We do this by working with organizations such as:
- Black Lives Matter
- Anti-Defamation League
- Human Rights Campaign
- Voto Latino
We also continue to use one of the most powerful tools at our disposal - our voice - to speak up for what’s right. We’re a small piece of the puzzle, but we’ll never stop doing our part in moving the world forward.
Giving back where we grow.
We ❤ Humboldt County
We know that investing in our community is the most foundational way to give back and ensure that we have a positive impact on our neighbors. Papa & Barkley emphasizes a team approach to working, giving, and community building that often centers on volunteer activities. These include: sponsoring and participating in the Perilous Plunge, supporting the Redwood Discovery Museum, volunteering and contributing to Food for People, hosting blood drives, and donating to the Humboldt County Library.
“With every farm partner we have we are constantly connecting and engaging in community events. It’s not just a purchasing relationship - it’s a community relationship.”
Tiana Ariaga, VP Cannabis Sourcing
Honoring the environment.
We are passionate about protecting our beautiful earth, which is why we work with trusted local farmers who use regenerative practices, who go above and beyond to be sustainable, and donate 1% of our CBD product revenue to environmental nonprofit organizations in partnership with 1% For the Planet.
